There are camping amenities near the tiedown area including picnic table, fire pit and pit toilet. Rodent holes in the tiedown area have been known to bend props. Fishing in nearby Bear Valley Creek can be very good.
Airstrip is closed to all air traffic from May 1 thru June 15 annually in order to avoid the detrimental impact of air traffic on substantial elk calving in the area, per the USFS.
