IAA Treasure Valley Chapter Hangar Flying Session and BBQ on Tuesday, Oct. 10th
- Location: Nampa Airport at 2414 Pilatus Lane, Nampa, Idaho 83687
- Time: Dinner 6pm, Presentation 7pm
- Date: Tuesday October 10, 2023
- Agenda: Big Creek 4 Airstrip Lawsuit
Fall has finally arrived and with it the IAA Treasure Valley Chapter meetings officially begin. Join us Tuesday, October 10, at the NE Hangar Complex at the Nampa Municipal Airport for Burgers and Brats and a good time with your aviation friends. Here is what’s on tap:
NEW HANGAR LOCATION: 2414 Pilatus Lane, Nampa, Idaho 83687… where is that at, you may ask? It is one road east of Municipal Drive (the road leading to the terminal and Tower Grill) off Airport Way in Nampa. This is the same road you would turn onto to visit Mission Aviation Fellowship. However… if you look at Google or Apple Maps, that location looks like a big empty field. Now, there is a big black hangar building, newly constructed, where we are meeting.
As you turn south off Airport Way onto Pilatus on your immediate right you will see hangar 2414 and a small parking lot and signage for Boise Pilot Shop. If there are any spaces available in the lot use them… if not, park on Pilatus Lane. The entrance door to the building on the right is the one you seek… come on in and join the party.
If you go past the Red Blue Max Aviation or Spirit of Flight Museum building, you have gone too far south on Pilatus.
No security gates to go through on this location and plenty of parking on the street. We have arranged for the Boise Pilot Shop next door to be open… so come and see all the great pilot supplies and gift ideas for aviators in stock.
Food: We will begin our festivities at 6 p.m. with BBQ burgers and brats, drinks, and all the fixings. $10 donation suggested per person. Chairs and table will be set, nothing to bring but yourself. No RSVP needed… just show up!
Program: As you may know, the IAA has signaled its continuing support in the battle to keep our backcountry airstrips open and available. As we speak, your association is actively involved regarding the lawsuit that seeks to close the Big Creek 4 airstrips. This is perhaps one of the most important endeavors the association has taken on in recent years and one we should all know more about. Join us for a thorough debrief on this important effort and find out how you can help.
Timing: Dinner 6pm, Presentation 7pm
Unless notified otherwise the location will be at the Nampa Airport. Our typical event will be a BBQ dinner (burgers and brats) followed by a short informational program. All details are on the IAA website events calendar. Please save the dates and join us as you can.
Save the Future Dates: Please “save the dates” for our upcoming fall schedule of TV chapter meetings and events:
