IAA District 2 - Director Bill Ables (541) 263-1327 email@example.com. The FAA has assigned Wilson Bar the identifier code C48. Actual airstrip length is 1,470 feet. Pilots should be aware that another popular airstrip, MacKay Bar, is only two miles downstream.

There is a hazardous 6' long rut 8" wide and 6" deep located at midfield right on centerline.This hazard is definitely deep enough to damage landing gear.

A NOTAM (Number 02/637)has been issued as a means to help inform pilots of the rutting and rough surface conditions mid field at the Wilson Bar Airstrip(C48). A work party will go in late winter or early spring to maintain the runway once field conditions permit the repair. Please call Willy Acton ( Nez Perce-Clearwater NF Forest Aviation Officer) at 208-507-0942 with any questions or if you have and interest in participating in a work party this spring to help with the maintenance of the airstrip.
Airstrip Classification: WILD
Airstrips may have basic navigation aids such as windsock and runway markers and limited or no user facilities. Typically located in the remotest settings away from roads and communities.
Maintenance: Clear hazardous vegetation from approaches, remove obstacles, treat noxious weeds and maintain useable airstrip surface.
