IAA District 6 - Director Mike Hart 208-528-7672 The road adjacent to the airstrip is a corridor through the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness. Wilderness rules apply either side of the road. A fully developed campground lies about a half mile downstream from the airstrip. Fishing can be good in Loon Creek. Hot springs are located about five miles downstream. The Diamond D guest ranch is about three miles upstream. They will pick you up at the airstrip. July 25, 2019 - Women's Floatplane Splashdown! Cavanaugh Bay (66S), Tanglefoot Seaplane Base (D28)

Floatplane Splashdown is an extraordinary flight immersion. Under-the-wing camp or stay in cabins while savoring unique flight instruction at beautiful Lake Cavanaugh (66S) in Northern Idaho. A float rating is probably the most fun to earn and enhances confidence in huge ways. Integrate recreation with aviation to experience a complete flight-learning experience. This event offers FUN, skills, WWaa Excellence Seminar, flight instruction, ground, exam prep, check ride (optional), massages, and more! This event was originally scheduled for July 18-21st.
