Magee Airstrip Work Party
There will be a work party at Magee on Saturday May 10, 2025.
Activities:
– Mowing and trimming grass on the runway and surrounding nearby parking areas as required.
– Repairing and mitigating gopher hole damage.
– Inspecting and repairing tiedown chains as required.
– Dragging the south end of the strip to reduce some of the bumps.
– Replace the wood top and benches of one of the picnic tables (and paint it).
– Scrape and stain the Magee/Idaho sign.
Tools needed:
– Sturdy footwear, gloves, weed whackers, shovels, rakes, small selection of hand tools for bench and sign work, possibly a chainsaw, electric splitter and generator for firewood

General comments:
– Any size airplane can get in and out of Magee pretty easily.

– Standard left hand traffic pattern.
– Landing to the south, over and beyond the obviously darker green grass (meaning wet!) which is slightly uphill. This leaves about 2000 ft to roll out on.

– Standard takeoff is to the north, downhill into the Coeur d’alene River Canyon.
– If we get enough RSVP’s there will be hamburgers, chips and drinks.
