On August 13, 2022, Emblem Aviation is hosting the first Rocky Mountain STOL Competition at KPNA – Ralph Wenz Field, Pinedale Airport. Our airport has a beautiful view of the Wind River Range. Due to winds in the summer, we plan to have our practice Friday morning at 8:00 am and our competition Saturday morning, August 13th at 8:00 am.

We have organized the following accommodations:
Competitors will arrive Thursday, August 11th, and have their choice of camping at the airport or getting a ride into town and staying at one of our local hotels. We have rooms blocked at The Hampton Inn & Suites 307-367-6700, and the Baymont 307-367-8300. We also recommend the cabins at Half Moon Lake Lodge 307-367-6373, or Jackalope Motor Lodge 307-200-9642.

Rides into town can be arranged by Emblem Aviation 307-367-2290.
We are also organizing rides into town by our local high school’s National Honors Society members as a fundraiser on a donation basis. This gives pilots the opportunity to support a great group of young people while exploring the nice shops on Main street, our local dining, and of course a comfortable place to rest up for the big event!

If the pilots choose to camp they can still catch a ride into town. We have arranged 2 options for a shower – the Pinedale Aquatic Center, or the Jackalope Lodge. I am sure that once they are in town they will want to explore the area.

FRIDAY NIGHT (although our flyer has it listed as Thursday) there will be a free concert in the town park. However, if they would rather stay at the airport there will be food and other Vendors open till 8:00 pm. It’s always a good time socializing with other pilots and meeting some local folks.

Not only will Emblem Aviation be offering a discount on Avgas, but we are including Free Avgas as part of the prize packages for the winners in our 6 categories! We have designed some unique trophies that have a distinct local flare. We are busy gathering some GREAT local swag for our pilots as well.
