AGENDA
The agenda can be found below and will be a great event with lots of topics including:
- Idaho Aviation Accident Score Card
- Mountain Flying Meteorology
- Aeronautics Project Updates
- FAA Modernization of Special Airworthiness Certification
- A lot more
This year we are proud to have Darren Pleasance from the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as our keynote speaker.
Toward the end of the luncheon break, from 12:50–1:15 p.m., we will induct two iconic Idaho aviators into the Idaho Aviation Hall of Fame: Galen Hanselman and William “Wild Bill” Miller. We hope you can join us for that event. IAA Flyline Editor Crista Worthy will present a 15-minute slideshow with fun, fascinating photos that will honor not only these two pilots but also the Idaho Division of Aeronautics, which has worked tirelessly for nearly 100 years to make Idaho the most aviation-friendly state in America! See how Chet Moulton launched the first state courtesy car program and the “airport in a day” program that built both municipal and backcountry airports in a day! Find out how Bill Miller contributed to Idaho’s aviation history with his career as an Idaho Air Guard pilot, and how he helped form the IAA, IAF, and more, and helped re-open Wilson Bar after it was illegally closed. And find out about the man behind Idaho’s “backcountry bible” — the now-classic book, Fly Idaho! and how it changed backcountry flying forever. Don’t miss out!
