Leodore (U00) Fly-In
Jul 4: Leadore (U00) Fly-In: Breakfast, Parade, Rodeo in Support of local EMTs.
Come see how an Idaho town with a population of about 100 rolls out the welcome mat and support their amazing volunteer EMTs at the same time! The Salmon-Challis District 6 of the IAA Is sponsoring this fun event. The fundraiser includes a variety of family-oriented activities, including a renowned Cowboy Breakfast from 7–11 a.m. that features home-made treats: Adults $10, children $5. They’ll also have a silent auction, noon parade, and a kid’s rodeo right after the parade! The all-volunteer Leadore EMTs help provide emergency services to residents and visitors in the hundreds of square miles of wild country bounded by the Continent Divide and located in Lemhi County. Rwy 11/29 is 3,500’ x 140’ asphalt/gravel. Rwy 16/34 is also open. Parking/camping available for Fly-In attendees. No campfires. Activities, restaurant, store nearby. Jim Mateski at 541-948-6575.
The Leadore (U00) third annual 4th of July EMT fund raiser fly-in is adding a arrival spot
landing contest. Not a STOL competition, just an opportunity to practice precision
landings at 6000 feet elevation on gravel or grass.
In simplest terms, arriving aircraft may choose to touch down at a well marked white
chalk line on the appropriate runway depending on wind conditions. Volunteers will
measure and record the results. Certificates of results will be presented to all
participants.
If interest is sufficient, for a $20 donation to the Leadore EMT’s, pilots may make 4
additional spot landings. 2 power on, and 2 power off. Recognitions will be awarded.
